TECHNICAL INFORMATION/ INFRACTRUCTURE

AIRCRAFT ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Students are taught Basic Electricity in the 1st Semester with practicals followed by Aircraft Electrical System from 3rd Semester onwards, covering Direct Current power supplies, Power Conversion Equipments, External & auxiliary power supplies, Power distribution in aircraft, circuit controlling devices, Circuit protection devices & systems Measuring Instruments & Warning Indication Systems, Power Utilization-motors, Power Utilization-systems, Electrical Diagrams & Identification Schemes.

The Theory classes are well complimented by Electrical Lab in our institute with various aircraft components, mock-ups & diagrams to impart comprehensive practical training to the students.

Students will also be taken on study trips to familiarize themselves with aircraft installation and systems at the airport as well as to M/s. Instrulab’s Electrical department for practicals.

AIRCRAFT INSTRUMENT SYSTEMS

Instrument system covers the entire syllabus with equal number of hours for both theory & practical. Theory part contains details of construction, working principle, function/operation related to all aspects of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic instrument and flight instruments.

For practical purposes this institute is having a well equipped & well furnished instrument lab, Where each type of instrument/ flight instrument is displayed to show its mechanism (explicit view) as well as there are plenty of instruments for students to do practical individually. This lab is also equipped with different type of test equipment such as dead weight tester, Altitude tester, ASI tester, scorby tester, where each student will have opportunity to simulate/test the serviceable component/equipment to acquire more practical knowledge. Apart from the above facility as this institute is established under the banner of INSTRULAB which is a renowned five decade old Approved Maintenance Organization by Director General of Civil Aviation, students will have extra opportunity to do practical under experienced AME’s which will have added value to their merit to get an entry to aviation industry.

Aircraft Communication, Radio & Navigation Systems

Student’s knowledge is built-up from basics to Advanced Digital Electronics, Radio Theory, Propagation of Electro Magnetic Waves Antenna Theory, Transmission Lines, Waveguides and their components.

Radio Transmitter Principles, Radio Receiver principles are taught followed by Aircraft Radio station consisting of HF Transmitter/ Receiver. Aircraft cabin interphone, service interphone, passenger Address, passenger entertainment system, Ground Crew call system, Cockpit Voice Recorder, Selective calling system are taught extensively covering Theory and practicals.

Aircraft Radio Navigation systems like Automatic Direction finder, VHF Omni Range, Instrument Landing system and Hyperbolic Navigation systems are covered in theory as well as practical to give sound knowledge to students.

Radar principles and Aircraft Radar Navigation systems viz. Distance Measuring Equipment, ATC Transponder, Radio Altimeter, Doppler Navigation, Area Navigation, Weather Avoidance Radar, Satellite communication, Satellite Navigation, Ground Proximity warning system, Aircraft collision Avoidance system, Present day glass cockpit, CRT Displays Aircraft computer control systems are taught in detail to give detailed knowledge to students.

We have a well equipped Radio Lab where all aircraft Radio Communication, Radio Navigation and Radar Navigation equipment are held in sufficient quantity to train students practically. Use of Test equipments, wiring and checking of different electronic circuits practically are on our curriculum.

Students are also taken on study tour to familiarize themselves with aircraft Radio, Radar Navigation Equipment installation, cockpit controls, Antenna installations on a/c for various systems to aircraft maintenance Organizations.

Basic Electronics & Digital Computers

Theory class in the class rooms are followed by practicals in Basic Electronics Lab to give comprehensive knowledge of electronics components, circuits. This institute is equipped with easy to use Trainer kits which can be wired and checked by students under the supervision of Instructors. Digital Computer circuit components, hardware etc. are taught followed by practical, with trainer kits. Students are taught computer operation in our well equipped computer lab.

SYSTEM COMPONENTS SHOP

The system components shop consists of aircraft components such as Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Fuel, Landing gear, Air-conditioning system, Aircraft controls, Oxygen, Engine, Propeller and Galley equipments with related systems diagrams for familiarization of the students with various aircraft system components and their functions.

In theory, students are taught Theory of Flight which deals with behavior of airfoils in airflow, then about construction of aircraft wherein the whole construction of aero plane is dealt with followed by aircraft materials, ground handling and safety. In this students are imparted knowledge of different materials used in the construction of aircraft and the ground handling of the aircraft.

Further more various maintenance practices involved and the aircraft inspection procedures adopted by the aviation industries are also in our curriculum.

Apart from the theoretical knowledge students acquire practical training and experience on the different aircraft systems through visits to the various aircraft maintenance organizations.
