work shop practice

Workshop practice is to teach students of AME course the various aircraft tools, technique of using them correctly to adhere to correct aircraft maintenance practices. The syllabus is subdivided into four groups:

Basic Metal Workshop : To teach students the use of tools and precision tools for marking, measuring, cutting, filling and fitting jobs. This shop has bench and hand vices, pneumatic hammer, large surface table for precision marking off , air compressor, Powered hacksaw etc.

Machine Shop : This shop helps students to obtain knowledge and principles of turning, thread cutting, knurling, drilling and boring etc., it consists of high speed drilling machine, grinding machine, buffing machine, center lathe.

Welding Shop : To familiarize students with electric arc welding, gas welding and spot welding techniques.

Sheet Metal Shop : To give in depth knowledge to students regarding sheet metal work on aircraft, like cutting, bending, rolling, riveting etc., This shop is equipped with Aviation snips, straight bladed snips, wire end plate gauge, feeler gauge, round nose pliers, firming role, hand lever shears, treadle operated guillotine and various sheet metal stakes
